Abstract

This study examines the characteristics of digital literature through an analysis of the digital short story, specifically the genre of purposefully animated narratives, using the story "Village of Fish" as a case study. It highlights the intersection of Arabic prose narration with digital age technologies, examining the transformation of storytelling from print-based texts to interactive visual models. The research highlights the role of computational programming in amplifying the visual, auditory, and emotional impact of the narrative, endowing the story with symbolic dimensions and semantic density that transcend the boundaries of traditional texts. It also presents new mechanisms based on digital activation, which shift literary creativity from an individual act to a technical application—what is termed "technical prose creativity." This study actually provides valuable insights into the structural and aesthetic transformations currently shaping Arabic storytelling within interactive digital environments.
