The relevance of the study of the psychology of heroes is due to the fact that in the modern literature of postmodernism, mental processes and states often come to the fore, exposing social, religious, political and other problems. The purpose of this study is to study the psychological characteristics of the characters and create a psychological portrait on the example of literary works of Kazakh authors using the concept of personality structure analysis. The following methods are used for complex analysis: psychological, cognitive, analysis of artistic images, comparative-comparative, contextual and analytical-synthetic. This study compares the psychological portraits of the main characters of literary works by I.A. Odegov and L. Kalaus. Personality structures are considered according to the psychoanalysis of S. Freud and C.G. Jung. With the help of these psychoanalytic concepts, the images of the main characters of literary works are decoded. In this work, various mental and physical manifestations, actions, thoughts, and decisions of the characters are analysed. Instincts, aggression, and the processes of repression of negative experience with the help of dreams and fantasies are associated with the Id as primary desires, the Ego is considered in the context of decisions and the creation of safe conditions for existence, and the Super-Ego is associated with the idealistic ideas of the heroes about the world, culture, and civilization. A comparative table is presented on the psychological portraits of Igor and Batu. This work can be used to study psychotypes, psychological processes and manifestations through the deconstruction of created literary images, to identify links between psychology and literature, and to compare prototypes and literary characters using a psychological portrait.
